Mark Wayne Rickert was born of Charles and Carolyn Rickert in Carmel, Indiana. He and his beloved wife, Jeanne (Toole) Rickert moved to Felton, California in 1982. There, they raised their four children: Caleb Rickert, Caris (Rickert) Dall, Seth Rickert, and Sarah (Rickert) Robertson, by whom made him a happy Grandpa nine times over! In 2014, he moved with family to Northern Idaho. Mark reposed peacefully at home, surrounded by his family and loved ones.
He was diagnosed in 2004 with Parkinson’s Disease, which added many struggles to his life; However, he also viewed it as a blessing, as it contributed to the beautiful, loving, kind, humble, caring, gentle, and wise man he was. He was a testament of God’s true love to all those blessed by his presence. Though life changing, Parkinson’s did not stop him from being the most adventurous, thrill-seeking daredevil until his last few years – even if he paraglided into a slough or the side of a mountain.
Dn. Mark Seraphim was a deacon in the Eastern Orthodox Church. He fought the good fight. He finished the race. He kept the faith. Lord have mercy. He is survived by his siblings, Charla (Rickert) Kuhne and Stuart Rickert, as well as his wife, children, and grandchildren. All who knew him will miss him. Memory Eternal! Memory Eternal!
